Level 7: The World Wide Web
1: Hack
You can plug your neural jack into any electric device to attempt to take control of it. You can control simple devices while you are plugged into them. More autonomous devices may resist, requiring a Hackerman LEVEL CHECK to successfully hack them. You can also provide hacked autonomous devices one command which it will follow after you jack out. This command must have a defined end state, and cannot loop forever. Sentient or advanced electric devices might have further opportunities to break free of the hacking..
1: Quick Hack
If you touch or punch something with LEVELs, you can make a Hackerman LEVEL CHECK against its LEVEL. If the target wasn't aware of you before this, add 4 to the CHECK. If you pass the CHECK, you may apply one of the following effects:
- Whenever the target takes damage until your next turn, it takes 1d6 additional damage.
- The target has a penalty of 1d6 to CHECKs until your next turn.
3: Seeing The Code
When you hack a target with Hack or Quick Hack, you can ask one yes or no question. The target uploads the answer to your brain. Once you have used Seeing The Code on a target, you cannot do this again on the same target until you sleep.
5: Hack++
You can plug your neural jack into non-electric creatures and Hack them, requiring a Hackerman LEVEL CHECK with a TN of their LEVEL. You only have time to provide one command.
7: The World Wide Web
You can connect your brain-computer to the Internet and ask it for aid. Roll 1d20 to determine the responder's reaction:
- 1-5: They send a virus which changes some nearby object or creature to your detriment.
- 6-19: They will ask for a service in exchange for their assistance, respective to the magnitude of the request. Potential services include tagging a wall, or delivering a message, or breaking some object.
- 20: They provide the aid for free
